Moving Forwards

Kirriemuir, Angus

Almost three months, bar a few days, into 2021 and it feels like we never left 2020. We still have Covid-19 with us, we are still in lockdown and still working from home where we can. Kirriemuir is still the Wee Red Toon at the Gateway to the Glens and is still the place I want to live and work in.

Work, for me, has been somewhat disrupted even before Covid-19 crept silently into our communities. Just when I thought it was time to return to working full time once more, along came Covid and turned the world upside down. It has been a long year of waiting, wishing and wanting.

However, it is time to find a new ‘normal’ and resume the working regime despite Covid’s restrictions and resurgence. I am on the look out for new premises suitable as an artist’s studio. Ideally the new studio will have town centre presence, preferably Kirriemuir. The closer to home the better. Let’s hope it does not take too long before the end of Covid Lockdown and the start of studio working again. I am hoping to get into a studio by July 2021 so that I can start on a new body of work; larger in size than I am able to do in my home environment. I want ‘new’ to replace the ‘still’ in my life. Onwards and upwards as friend would say…..
